The Ancient Egyptians were pioneers in Agriculture as they engaged in farming that only few societies were able to at the time they did so. This was done despite the fact that most of their land was unsuitable for Agriculture.

They overcame this massive hurdle by engaging in irrigation of the Nile river and developed complex irrigation systems that directed water from the Nile river where they wanted it to go including to the fields where it watered plants and gave them fertile silt that led to success in farming.
